Business education for professionals

Birth Boss Society provides business education, professional development, and continuing education for doulas, childbirth educators, lactation educators, and doula agency owners. Our content is designed for practicing professionals and assumes you hold whatever training, certification, and licensure your role requires.

We do not provide medical or clinical advice

Nothing we publish or teach is medical, clinical, nursing, midwifery, mental health, or lactation-consultant advice, and none of it is a substitute for care from a qualified healthcare provider. We do not diagnose, treat, or advise on any medical condition, and we do not provide guidance on the clinical care of any individual client or patient.

If you are pregnant, postpartum, or seeking care for yourself or your family, this website is not for you — please speak with your own healthcare provider.

Scope of practice is yours to know

Doula practice, childbirth education, and lactation support are regulated differently across states and countries, and certifying bodies set their own scope-of-practice standards. You are responsible for knowing and staying inside the scope that applies to you, for maintaining your own credentials, and for complying with the laws where you practice. Nothing we teach expands your scope of practice or authorizes you to provide care you are not qualified to provide.

Certification and credentials

Where a training we offer leads to a credential issued by a third-party certifying organization, that organization sets the requirements and issues the credential. Completing a training with us does not by itself confer certification unless the offer page for that training says so explicitly and you meet the certifying body's requirements. Attending our programs does not make you an employee, agent, or representative of Birth Boss Society, and does not authorize you to describe yourself as certified or endorsed by us.

Continuing education

Where we describe a training as eligible for continuing education units, eligibility is determined by the approving organization and may change. Confirm current eligibility with your certifying body before relying on it to meet a recertification requirement.

Client confidentiality

Do not share identifying information about your clients or their families in our community, our forms, our coaching sessions, or our events. Remove names, dates, locations, and any other identifying detail before discussing a case. You are responsible for your own confidentiality obligations to your clients.

Templates and documents

We provide contract templates, intake forms, policy language, and other business documents as educational starting points. They are not drafted for your state, your business structure, or your circumstances, and they have not been reviewed by an attorney licensed where you practice. Have a qualified attorney review any document before you use it with clients or contractors.
