BBS Community Code of Conduct
Effective July 23, 2026.
This community exists so doula business owners can get honest answers, real support, and the kind of straight talk that is hard to find anywhere else in this industry. That only works if everyone here protects it. Here is what we ask of you.
What we expect
- Protect confidentiality. What is shared here stays here. Do not screenshot, quote, or repeat another member's business details, revenue, struggles, or personal circumstances outside this community.
- Protect your clients. Never share identifying information about a client or their family. Strip names, dates, and locations before you ask about a situation.
- Assume good faith. We come from different markets, different training backgrounds, different business models, and different life circumstances. Ask before you argue.
- Disagree well. Challenge an idea, not a person. "I'd approach that differently, here's why" is welcome. Contempt is not.
- Stay in your lane clinically. This is a business community. Do not give or solicit medical, clinical, or legal advice for a specific situation. Refer people to qualified professionals.
- Give before you take. The members who get the most out of this room are the ones who answer other people's questions too.
What is not allowed
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or targeted pile-ons
- Discriminatory, hateful, or demeaning language of any kind, including about clients
- Sharing another member's content, information, or words outside the community
- Sharing your login, or giving anyone else access to member-only material
- Recruiting members into another program, MLM, or paid community without our written permission
- Unsolicited direct messages selling something
- Posting other people's copyrighted material — including paid trainings, courses, or documents from other educators
- Publicly disparaging a named colleague, client, hospital, or organization
- Misrepresenting your credentials, experience, or certifications
Promoting your own business
You are welcome to mention what you do when it is genuinely relevant to a conversation, to answer a question about your own offer when asked, and to post in any designated promotion threads or channels. Do not turn a support thread into an advertisement, and do not DM members with a pitch. If you are unsure whether something crosses the line, ask a moderator first.
How we handle problems
Most issues are a misunderstanding and get resolved with a quiet message. Where more is needed, we generally follow this path, though we may skip steps for serious conduct:
- A private note from a moderator explaining the issue
- Content removal, with an explanation
- A temporary suspension of posting access
- Removal from the community and termination of membership
Harassment, threats, breaches of confidentiality, and sharing paid materials are grounds for immediate removal without warning. Where we terminate a membership for a violation of this Code, no refund is due.
Reporting
If you see something that breaks these rules, or something that just feels wrong, email [email protected]. We treat reports confidentially. You will not be penalized for raising a concern in good faith.
Our discretion
We reserve the right to remove content and end memberships at our discretion where we believe it is necessary to protect this community. We will always try to be fair, and we will tell you why.
